MICHELE FIELD - Artist

Commissions Undertaken - Pet Portraits a Speciality

A glimpse at some of the art work on display at
Michele's May 2008 Artweeks show

I have lived in Oxfordshire most of my life with my husband Richard, together we have two daughters and one son of whom we are very proud. I have become a well-established artist in Oxfordshire with my paintings hung in homes throughout the UK and overseas.

Since very young I have had a passion for painting. Much of my inspiration comes from what I see around me, subjects like the Oxford canal, waterways and woodland scenes are wonderful subject to paint with all the changing colours of the seasons. Flowers in my garden are a great sauce of inspiration.

In recent years I like to paint more modern art on large canvases. These are such fun to paint. It's nice to get carried away and express yourself with bright vibrant colours. Acrylics and oils are such lovely mediums to work with.

Career Extracts and Highlights.

1992 onwards: My painting career began.

1993-2007: In the past I have donated paintings to local Kidlington village charities, some of these include the Royal British Legion, Kidlington Church Spire appeal & also Oxfordshire Hospitals. Many of my designs are used for charity cards such as IWA & Sobell House

1994: A number of my paintings were presented by my parents to the town of Geel in Belgium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation during the second world war.

1995: Singer Mr Paul Weller brought one of my paintings of Shipton-on-Cherwell by the Oxford canal, maybe he wanted to keep a memory of his days at the Manor recording studio.

The John Radcliffe Anglers Society purchased one of my paintings as their trophy instead of a cup; it depicted a spot on the Oxford canal where they fished.

What I do:

I paint pet portraits, landscapes, canals, waterways, flowers & modern canvas work.

Commissions give me new challenges. They give much pleasure to others and to me when I see how pleased people are with the final result. If you would like to consider commissioning me for something special please ask. Send good photographs of your boat, dog, local landscape etc, and I will let you know if they would make a good painting. My work is often bought for very special occasions, such as golden wedding anniversaries, birthdays, etc.
